Going skydiving is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for most people. So it makes sense that you would want to find the best skydiving destinations for your tandem skydive. But how do you find the best places to skydive?
There are plenty of incredible skydiving places right here in the US, like Skydive Key West in the postcard-perfect Florida Keys (a WNY favorite — more on this fellow East Coast DZ below); Skydive Moab where you freefall over the Canyonlands National Parks; and Skydive Kauai in stunning Hanapepe, Hawaii. But the world is a lot wider than just the United States. Some of the best places to go skydiving are international destinations that would absolutely blow your mind!

You didn’t think we’d leave ourselves off the list, did you? We may be a little biased, but after a nice long skydiving vacation, we love to come home to our family. And that’s exactly what WNY Skydiving is: home. You can’t beat the feeling of sharing the sky with friends, old and new, and even people who have been with you since the beginning of your skydiving journey.
And our dropzone ain’t bad, either! Our aircraft and facilities can compete with the best of them, and the bird’s eye view of Lake Ontario will rival any coastal landscape. There’s something to be said for rising above quaint villages and generational farms with the people you love and appreciate.
We can’t get enough of everything the globe’s skydiving has to offer. But at the end of the day, we prefer jumping out of airplanes at a place that makes our hearts soar as high as our spirits.
What is the skydiving capital of the world? It’s hard to argue for any other answer besides Skydive Dubai. This dropzone in the Palm Islands is a skydiving paradise. It has the views, the vibes, and the adventure you’re looking for.
Skydive Dubai has become the destination among destinations for professional skydivers, celebrities, and extreme adventure tourists. Some of the most circulated skydiving pictures and videos sport the fanning backdrop of the famous Palm Islands and for good reason. It’s a breathtaking view that makes a statement.
But if you’re hoping to add this prime location to your skydiving bucket list, plan well in advance and make reservations early!
You may not have ever heard of Skydive Belize before, but you’ve certainly heard of – or at least seen pictures of – what they are most famous for. Almost any skydiver you ask has skydiving the Blue Hole on their to-do list. It’s a one-of-a-kind experience with views and sensations that you can’t get anywhere else.
But, as they say, you get what you pay for. Jumping into the Blue Hole isn’t cheap. This one experience will cost you and at least three of your friends $10,000 for the jump package. This does include transportation, your hotel stay, and permits and equipment to explore the reef after you land, so it’s an entire vacation. And if you can swing it, totally worth it!
Bonus adventure: You can also SCUBA dive into the blue hole after you land in it if you’re SCUBA certified! But make sure you’re not doing it the other way around – it’s okay to skydive and then SCUBA dive, but you shouldn’t fly for 12-24 hours after SCUBA diving.
When people think of top skydiving destinations, islands, beaches, and intriguing landscapes come to mind. The highest point on Earth isn’t typically what you would think of when picturing fun things to skydive over. But Mt. Everest is an incredibly coveted skydiving destination!
Of course, you won’t be jumping directly over the top of Mt. Everest. The mountain is actually higher than the skydive! But you’ll get close. At Everest Skydive Nepal, you’ll exit an AS350 B3 chopper at 23,000 feet, just 6,000 feet below the peak. Imagine being that high and looking UP at land!
And the view isn’t the only fun part. You’ll be jumping from so high that you’ll get to see what it’s like to wear oxygen in freefall. Talk about feeling like a stunt performer!
And we don’t just mean Egypt. We’re talking about the Egypt of history books! At Skydive Egypt, you can skydive directly over the Great Pyramid of Giza and get a view of history like you never imagined. That’s right. You can exit an airplane and rocket directly toward the center of the oldest of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World.
But don’t get too far ahead of yourself. This one is less of a regularly operating dropzone and more of an exclusive event. The precious nature of the Pyramids means that a lot of planning and consideration has to go into skydiving and landing around these sacred behemoths. To achieve this amazing feat, you’ll need to keep an eye out for event dates and mash that book button the moment reservations open!
As we’ve mentioned, there are plenty of great places to jump all around the US, and Skydive Key West is one of our favorites. We’ve just got to give them a little love here. Skydive Key West has it all – tropical weather, breathtaking views, unbeatable vibes – and you don’t even need a passport to get there!
Because of the dimensions of the island (four miles long and one mile wide), the view from altitude is surreal. You can see the entire island as a small chunk of land surrounded by endless, sparkling blue ocean on all sides like you’re some kind of soaring seabird. You won’t believe that that’s where you’re going to land!
And the cool people at Skydive Key West bring a whole new meaning to the term island living. From the moment you arrive at the dropzone, you’ll be ushered into a world of easy breezy fun.
But don’t let them fool you. They may be chill, but safety is of the utmost importance to their operations. They run a tighter ship than any of the pirates who visited Key West throughout history, and everything they do meets the most up-to-date rules and regulations.
Wondering, “Where can I go skydiving?” Start out at home with us at WNY Skydiving! We can’t wait to show you your world from a whole new angle! Blue skies!
