WNYSkydiving will be hosting 1 USPA Coach course this year!
Coaches can teach the general sections of the first-jump course. They work under the supervision of instructors to train and supervise students in group skydiving skills. If you’d like to get your coach rating, or simply learn more about how to teach skydiving, now is the time to learn!
- USPA membership
- Hold a USPA B-license.
- Minimum of 100 jumps
Before the Course:
- Current (2019 or newer) paper copy of both the SIM and IRM will be required.
- Read Coach section of IRM and complete written test
- Assist in a First Jump Course (We will be holding one May15th 10am-4pm).
The course starts with verification of the requirements therefore you’ll need to bring your USPA membership card and logbook.
For the purpose of this course, all candidates must set aside 3 full days. Please plan accordingly. The first day of the course will consist of a full day in the classroom. You will see a demonstration of a ground prep topic and will be preparing your own lessons as homework. Course candidates will complete ground prep evaluations on Day 2. Finally, Day 3 will consist of jump evaluations.
