Your biplane flying experience will be a one-of-a-kind adventure – and we want you to be prepared to get the most out of it! Here’s what to expect on the day of your biplane ride:
Arrival time is based on your scheduled class time. We ask you to arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled class time. Upon arrival, you will sign in with our manifest staff and begin the check-in process. Check-in takes approximately 10 minutes. Following check-in, you will be introduced to your pilot and given a short training class.
Following your training class, will be assigned a number, based on the order of arrival for your class time. Adjustments may be made in consideration of optimal weight and balance in the aircraft.
You will need to have at least half the day available on the day of your flight. Come out and spend the day at the airport with us! Between the completion of your training class and the time you actually fly, you can enjoy watching the other biplane flights and skydiving activities.
All passengers will need to bring government-issued photo identification, such as a Passport or Driver’s License. You will need this in order to check in with our manifest staff. No one will be permitted on the airplane without valid photo ID.
Following your training class, there will be a waiting period before your flight. During this time, feel free to make use of our picnic area. You are welcome to bring your own camp or lounge chairs, coolers, and shade umbrellas. Bring your own snacks and beverages or order-in directly to the airport (Avanti Pizza in Albion, NY delivers). Please note that alcoholic beverages are NOT permitted during hours of operation.
We are flying in an open cockpit piece of history, therefore you will be in the elements. It will be windy and cooler at altitude than on the ground. Dress appropriately. This means no loose clothing, and must have shoes, sneakers, or boots that are snugly tied. If it is below 70 degrees on the ground, you will want to wear a jacket.
Spectators are more than welcome! If you’re bringing children to watch, please be sure there is an adult designated to be responsible for any minor children while you’re in the air. Service animals are of course welcome. Please leave other furry friends at home.
All aviation activities are weather-dependent. There are a variety of conditions we will look at to determine whether or not flying is possible on a given date. We will be flying in an open cockpit aircraft and as such we do not fly in the rain. We also cannot fly through solid layers of clouds. If we determine that weather does not permit flying on the date you are scheduled, you will have up to 1 year to reschedule your flight. Please note that all flights are transferable but they are all nonrefundable.
